While traveling means exploring a new place, new food, meeting new people and many more new things. But, being a part of a conservative Indian family what I was taught about traveling throughout my teenage years was it is unsafe if done with other than your family. Well, that is how the Indians objectify traveling.

According to this tourism survey, it was found that a majority of Indians travel mostly once in a year. The stats reveal that 54% of Indian travelers, take only one holiday per year, while only 17% tend to travel more than twice a year.

For an average Indian family, traveling is merely going to pilgrimage center, seeking the blessings of God and eating the same kind of food what they would be eating every other day, do some random shopping and be back. The idea of traveling is so misunderstood with Indian families that even their children tend to follow the tradition and not explore much as we are scared of newness. Once you are in your 20’s and understand how to actually travel, the person will be burdened with so many responsibilities that we hardly get to take time off. Travel has to be the vital part of one’s life and we should pass the same idea to future generation to let them explore and live more.
